✦About us
Every detail has a reason.
We believe good software comes from working out every nuance. We gave our own name and logo the same care. This is the story they tell.

IThe compass rose
Eight winds, one course.
On the portolan charts of the Mediterranean, drawn in the 13th and 14th centuries, sailors found their way with a rosa dei venti — a rose of the winds. Its rays pointed to the eight principal winds of the sea: Tramontana from the north, Greco from the north-east, Levante from the east, Scirocco from the south-east, Ostro from the south, Libeccio from the south-west, Ponente from the west and Maestro from the north-west.
From each rose, lines ran across the chart toward every horizon. The rose had one job: orient the map, hold the course and bring the ship to its destination. Our logo keeps its eight rays, and our work is organised along eight directions — the eight services we offer.
On the earliest roses, north was marked with a simple T, for Tramontana. Around 1500, Portuguese cartographers — Pedro Reinel is the one most often credited — replaced it with a fleur-de-lis. Five centuries later, it still marks north on compasses around the world.
IIThe fleur-de-lis
North points home.
The fleur-de-lis crossed the Atlantic with New France. In 1608, Samuel de Champlain founded Québec City, and the emblem took root along the St. Lawrence. On 21 January 1948 it took its place on Québec’s flag, the Fleurdelisé: a white cross on blue, with a fleur-de-lis in each quarter.
Vega Digital Agency was born in Québec. Our heart, our soul and our head office are in Montreal — the city we love, the business heart of the province, where French and English, old stone and new ideas share the same streets. The fleur-de-lis that marks north on our compass is our tribute to that home: a quiet, proud reminder of where we come from, and of the people we build for. Wherever a project takes us, our needle always finds its way back here.

IIIVega
The star the others are measured against.
Vega — Alpha Lyrae — is the brightest star in the constellation Lyra and one of the brightest in the night sky, about 25 light-years away. Its name comes from the Arabic al-nasr al-wāqiʿ, “the swooping eagle”.
For astronomers, Vega is the reference. The magnitude scale was anchored to it: Vega defines magnitude zero, and the brightness of other stars is measured against it. In July 1850, at Harvard College Observatory, William Cranch Bond and John Adams Whipple made it the first star ever photographed after the Sun. In 1872, Henry Draper made it the first star whose spectrum was photographed.
Vega also keeps its own appointment with the sky. Around 12,000 BCE it was the pole star, and as Earth’s axis slowly precesses it will become the north star again around the year 13,700.
Vega defines magnitude zero. Everything else is measured against it.
IVWhat it means for us
One direction. Eight ways. One standard.

A compass that finds north
Before we build, we find out where you need to go. Every project starts with a clear direction, agreed in writing.

Eight directions
SaaS platforms, ERP and CRM, accounting, mobile apps, websites and portals, integrations, voice assistants, and telecom, IoT and access-control platforms.

One standard
Vega is the star the others are measured against. That is the bar we set for our software: tailored, true to every detail.

Part of the Vega Group
Our sister companies in security, networks and telematics install and run in the field the systems we write software for.
Tailored software, true to every detail.
